Summary of Primary Job Responsibilities:

Primary Job role:
Execution of facilities Plans from grounds-up – R&D and Factory by managing the execution with Civil and Mechanical Contractors. And further ensuring that these facilities are functional as scheduled and intended after clearing all the government and local administration clearances with certifications received on-time.

Dual/Future Job role:
Continuing Liaison with Government body and single point of contact as Facilities commence operations (After 9 months for R&D).
IR / HR – point of contact – (After 9 months).

Education:
Degree in any professional qualification from a recognized University; Certification or degree in management would be added advantage.

Experience Target (in this job or a related function/field):
15 years minimum. It will be preferable if a similar experience is there.

Skills:
• Project Management.
• Government relationship.
• Local relationship expertise.
• Workforce management skills.

Knowledge/Abilities:
• Facility Project Management Skill.
• Knowledge of facility commissioning requirements
• Knowledge of all government and pollution clearances required before starting operations at facility.

• Knowledge of Facilities and Employee Safety and security compliance.
• Risk assessment and management tools.
• Decision-making skills.

Special Certifications:
Certification in above fields would be added advantage.

Travel Required:
Only local travel would be required between two facilities.

Managing with local people and government agencies would be key for success. Good government contacts with the Industry Ministry and Ministry of Agriculture would be key the expectation such that the person can execute the project smoothly.

Physical Demands:
The person has to be physically fit for managing facilities project to come up to commissioning stage from Green Field, in the stipulated time. There is no specific requirement of lifting weight in the job.

Working Conditions:

  1. His feet have to be on the ground for managing the facilities project to come up to the commissioning stage from Green Field, in the stipulated time.
  2. The Facilities project, technically would be executed by the Contractor who is very well experienced in this field. The person has to ensure that execution is happening in copybook style. Any risks and challenges have to be anticipated in advance and appropriately resolved. The person should be at the forefront of any administrative/execution roadblock and influence it to be favourably closed.
  3. The Project of availability of facilities and commissioning has to complete in 18 months (R&D – 9 months and Factory in 18 months), both projects however would start simultaneously.
  4. This role would be transitioned to leading the responsibility of Administration/Security /IR/Government Relations in HR department for both the facilities. Close to the end of the R&D project execution, the person would almost be playing a dual role of Project Manager and Lead role of Administration/Security/IR/Government Relation in HR department.

It is very important for the candidate to understand that the role is defined as Project Manager for Facilities. It is because it is a Primary KRA. Only when the Facilities Project is executed successfully, the door automatically opens for transitions to next role. This also should build confidence in the candidate on his long-term employability in the prestigious role in the Organization as above.
